Gratitude Beyond the Sky (Crane) — Japanese Gold-Paper Cut Works

from £170.00

Gratitude Beyond the Sky is a Japanese gold-paper cut artwork showcasing the artist’s playful use of geometric shapes and the contrast between gold and black.

Each artwork is designed and hand-cut by Yoshie using gilded brass leaf paper (洋金箔紙), individually hand-pressed by artisans in Hiroshima, Japan.

Originally created for the 2022 gallery exhibition in London, this artwork depicts two cranes (鶴, tsuru) gazing at each other between earth and sky. It symbolises the artist’s deep gratitude to family and cherished friends who have passed on but remain ever present.
