Thanks to Inoue Budogu, a specialist in martial arts gear based in Fukushima, Japan, for their generous donation of indigo-dyed martial arts uniforms (aizome dōgi: 藍染道着) and sakabukuro (酒袋) fabric offcuts.
Each bird features hand-embroidered initials in shiny gold metallic thread, along with vibrant, free-form stitching in multi-coloured cotton threads, giving them a refined, mature charm.
Artwork Details
Size: approx. 21–23cm tall
Each doll comes with a satin label on the back, featuring the artist’s signature and year of creation.
Personalisation Options
When placing your order, please provide the following details:
Alphabet (A–Z) *Required – Select your letter.
Owner’s Name (Optional) – Handwritten on a mini tag, that comes with the bird.
Face Direction (Optional) – Sideways or front-facing.
Head Ornament (Optional) – Choose pom-pom, spiky felt crest, or round felt crest.
Important Information:
Due to the use of upcycled fabric pieces and decorative parts, please keep the doll away from babies and toddlers to avoid potential choking hazards.
Indigo-dyed fabric may transfer colour to other materials. Please handle with care.
