A new edition of our beloved personalised alphabet birds takes flight - this time crafted from indigo-dyed martial arts uniforms (aizome dōgi: 藍染道着) and sakabukuro (酒袋) fabric offcuts.
Inspired by a connection made during my 2022 summer visit to Fukushima, these birds are created using fabric generously donated by Inoue Budogu, a specialist in martial arts gear - thank you! Each one features gold hand-embroidered initials and colourful hand-stitched details, giving them a refined, mature charm.
Artwork Details
Size: Approx. 21–23cm in height (varies with body shape and decorative choices).
Label: Features a satin tag with the certified creation year and the artist’s signature on the back.
Personalisation Options
When placing your order, please provide the following details:
Alphabet (A–Z) *Required – Select your letter. The thread will be gold.
Owner’s Name (Optional) – Handwritten on a mini tag, that comes with the bird.
Face Direction (Optional) – Sideways or front-facing, or leave blank for a surprise.
Head Ornament (Optional) – Choose pom-pom, spiky felt crest, or round felt crest, or leave blank for a surprise.
Material: This is an artistic creation made using repurposed fabric offcuts. Please do not give it as a toy to infants or young children, as small parts may pose a choking hazard. The indigo-dyed fabric (aizome) may transfer colour onto other materials, so please handle with care.
Shipping: Dispatched from the UK with a tracking number provided.
